The Malibu Phoenix is is a one-of-a kind location hidden in the hills of Malibu. Our private estate is located up beautiful Latigo Canyon, just 1.5 miles from the beach. The property is completely private & secluded, tucked back into a canyon along a stream. Our location features large grassy lawns, a huge flagstone pool deck, waterfalls, and an enchanted forrest filled with Oak, Sycamore & Redwood trees. Ample parking and nothing but nature surrounding you all make this exclusive location one of a kind.

Originally acquired by our family in 1959, the 15 acres of property in the Malibu Mountains was used to extend our family’s nursery school & after school programs to the Malibu area. The property then became a 300 kid a day summer camp for many years. This family run recreational facility provided a variety of activities for kids and people of all ages.

Now, after 50 years of family-run recreation and retreats, the property is run exclusively by Fred Pierson and his daughter Jenna. Our unique property is available for rent for any and all occasions. We specialize in Weddings, Receptions, Commitment Ceremonies, Vow Renewals, Parties, Company Picnics, Corporate Events, Retreats, Seminars, Photo Shoots and Filming.

Reverend Fred Pierson has been running the Malibu Phoenix and doing weddings & events for the last 40 years. Having married hundreds of couples & executed countless events, he is incredibly helpful & knowledgeable about every aspect that goes into your special day. Fred is a non denominational minister who will perform & allow you to have your ceremony exactly as you wish. He performs ceremonies both on and off the property, and is truly a natural at executing the perfect ceremony. Whether he is your minister or just the location owner, Rev Fred is there for you every step of the way. He is passionate about the love and energy that brings together every event, and is always one step ahead ensuring that everything is taken care of and your special day goes as smoothly as possible. When Fred is not working endlessly around the property, he can be found riding his Segway down on the beach with his two dogs, Shadow & Indianna Jones. =)

Jenna Pierson has grown up with events going on in her backyard for her entire life. From when she was a little girl, she was always fascinated with how the property could be transformed magically for all of the different events, and always paid special attention to the little details that went into these transformations. After being out in the real world for most of her 20’s, it was only natural that she realized her passion was here at the Malibu Phoenix, helping her dad run the family business & sharing her love & lifelong experience of executing events. She is full of energy & happy to discuss every little detail of your special day. Jenna can assist in every aspect of your event planning and will be there for support, guidance & inspiration every step of the way. Jenna also has a love for photography, and has been capturing weddings both on & off the property for the last few years. She is thrilled to have found her place in life helping people execute the event of their dreams, and loves working alongside her amazing Dad each & every day. When Jenna is not working on the property and planning events, she can be found on the beach or in the gym, coaching her high school & club volleyball teams. =)

Fred & Jenna are available to meet with by appointment Monday through Saturday from 9am-6pm. Come up to the property, tour the location, and we can chat by the pool about your upcoming event. We are here to answer any & all questions and guide you through the entire process. Our level of involvement in your event is entirely up to you, we can take care of everything or just provide the location. We welcome all outside catering & vendors, which allows you to have the freedom of planning each detail specifically as you like. Our main objective is to give you the event of your dreams, and we go above and beyond to make absolute sure that your special day goes flawlessly and will truly be an unforgettable experience.
